The Bow stanley cups ling Green Police Departments evidence building is complete and has begun to serve its purpose storing evidence.The 8,000-square-foot building addition to the BGPD headquarters property was a nine-month long building process.The department was previously using off-site storage areas and one internal and a much smaller evidence room that the department had outgrown.Robert Hansen, the logistics major for the Bowling Green Police Department says the building has already been useful. It brings all the evidence on the campus of the police department so we are not having to transport evidence across town for long term storage, and it just helps us increase the security of the evidence that we have to maintain.Basically, we had exceeded our capacity for what we could hold until we built this. So now, for long term storage, we have much more availability to store more evidence, said Hansen.The $1.2 million building has 11 storage garages and m stanley cups ultiple parking spaces out front for vehicles being kept as evidence, according to Bowling Green Police Officer Ronnie Ward.
