ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Federal authorities have joined yeezy the search for a suspected drunk driver who shot and wounded an Albuquerque police officer during a traffic stop. Albuquerque Police Chief Gorden Eden told reporters the officer was shot around 2:30 a.m. Saturday after the motorist got out of the vehicle and began shooting.Police spokesman Tanner Tixier says the officer was shot twice but was able to return fire. He is expected to survive. It s not known if the gunman was struck. Tixer says the gunman fled on foot. The suspect is described as white or a light-skinned Hispanic man who is ab af1 out six feet tall.The officer, whose name was not released, underwent surgery Saturday and is doing very well, Officer Simon Drobik told CBS affiliate KRQE. The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was assisting with the investigation and offered a $7,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
